Game Rules

At ITU ScrollBar, we have our own rules of Beer Pong! This version keeps the fun while adding a few extra twists.

How to Play
Setup: You'll need 2 ping pong balls and 12 cups filled with water

1. Arrange the 12 cups in a triangle formation on each end of the table. Each player has their own beer to drink from instead of drinking from the cups.

2. Make 2 teams of 1-3 players

3. Each team takes turns tossing a ping pong ball into the opponent’s cups. The starting team is decided with an “Eyes” challenge—players throw while maintaining eye contact.

4. If a ball lands in a cup, that cup is removed, and the throwing team drinks from their own beer.

Ending: The team that eliminates all opponent cups wins. The losing team must drink the remaining beer in their own cups.

SCROLLBAR RULES

- WRISTS RULE: Your wrist must stay behind the edge of the table when throwing, or the shot is invalid.

- BOUNCE: If a shot bounces off the table and lands in a cup, an additional cup of the defending team’s choice is also removed. However, defenders may swat away bouncing shots.

- RE-RACKING: Each team can request a cup rearrangement once per game. The last cup may always be centered.

- DOUBLE HIT: If both players on a team hit the same cup, the defending team drinks three cups. If different cups are hit, both are removed.

- REBUTTAL: After the final cup is hit, the losing team gets a chance to redeem themselves by making consecutive shots. If they hit all remaining cups, the game goes into a 3-cup overtime.

- SENSEI TIP: Using water in the cups instead of beer maintains hygiene and reduces waste while still keeping the drinking fun!
